Meet some of our Coaches

Matt Foster (Co Founder)
Matt is a former Head Coach in the State Basketball League (SBL) in Perth, Australia and is also long time coach within the highly successful Willetton Tigers program. As a player Matt had a highly successful career in the SBL after playing for the highly regarded Oregon Tech Owls in NAIA II. Matt went on to win SBL MVP in 1999 and regarded as one of the best Australian big men to have ever played in the SBL. Matt is the Head Coach of the Hume City Broncos in the Big V State Champ Men and has developed them into one of the leading programs in the competition. Matt is the Director of all operations in Victoria and is based in Melbourne.

Coach Ash (Co Founder)
As a talented player Ash won an under-20 national championship for WA in 2001 and went on to play five seasons in the State Basketball League (SBL) for the Lakeside Lightning. Ash also played in the NCAA II and NAIA I competitions on full scholarship in the United States. After his promising basketball future in US college was cut short by injury, Ash desired to give back to his community and the sport. In 2017 he transitioned his gifts and talents to non-profit work and coaching by establishing Aussie Prospects.
Ash is a former Head Coach in the SBL and led the Kalamunda Eastern Suns to their second only playoff appearance in 2012. He was the Assistant SBL Coach with the Willetton Tigers in 2013 and 2014 and the Lakeside Lightning in 2015. Following the transition of the SBL to NBL1 West, Ash was a NBL1 Assistant Coach with the Goldfields Giants in 2021 and 2022.
He has been a prominent fixture within the senior levels of WA Basketball for over fifteen years, coaching and developing elite talent from pro players, college bound Australians and local elite-talent.
With a Bachelor of Business majoring in Sports Management and Marketing, Ash has an innate ability to work with players on how to market themselves, build profile and manage communications which is a critical ingredient to success for both College and Pro level athletes.

Coach Creek
As a decorated player with over fifteen years of SBL/NBL1 playing experience, Wayne has paved the way for many athletes from Regional WA to achieve success in the sport. Wayne played over 300 SBL games as a Forward/Centre for the Goldfields Giants, leading the league in rebounds in 1998, 5-time league leader in blocked shots and holding the all-time SBL/NBL1 league record for blocked shots. He won an SBL Championship with the Giants, the first in club history, in 2007.
A valued leader both on and off the court, Wayne’s communicative style of leadership sees him consistently build teams with a strong, united culture who flourish under his guidance. He has a high basketball IQ and years of experience helping athletes to realise their full potential. Many of the athletes Wayne has coached in the NBL1 have had the best production of their careers under his leadership and guidance.
Wayne is the former Head Coach for the Goldfields Giants NBL1 team with eleven seasons of NBL1 coaching experience. He is the current Assistant Coach for the NBL1 Perry Lakes Hawks men’s team, PSA Team Coach and Player Development Coach with Aquinas College. Wayne has a reputation for excellence in coaching, with a dedication developing a winning culture that is based around strong work ethic, high character, history, and tradition. Wayne’s dedication to his athletes and to the game allow him to impart the lessons he has learned through his journey as an elite player and coach to see more promising Australian basketballers achieve their full potential.

Coach Blake
Blake has extensive experience coaching in both the SBL, WSBL, State Teams and all levels of WABL and has developed into one of the top coaches for elite women’s competition in Western Australia. Blake has been leading the women’s side of the Aussie Prospects program in WA since 2018 and has seen great success in working with our elite female talent. Blake was awarded NBL1 West Women’s Coach of the Year in 2021 after a stellar year coaching the East Perth Eagles, turning them into one of the best teams in the competition. Blake is currently the Head Coach of the Lakeside Lightning in the NBL1 West and is based in Perth, Western Australia.
